Joint Middle East delegation AALASC and LACBA International Law Section to the Middle East
Feb 25, 2012 to March 7, 2012 

A delegation of California Attorneys, organized and sponsored by the AALASC and the LACBA-International Law Section , is currently touring the Middle East.  The delegation members include former AALASC president, and Pasadena attorney, Paro Astourian, Esq. and current member, Los Angeles attorney Mark Wakim, Esq.,  The delegation is visiting Dubai, Abu Dhabi, Qatar, Beirut and Kuwait to establish and develop relationships with counterpart bar associations, lawyers, law firms, legal organizations and each host country’s legal society at large.   A letter from current president Imad Y. Elias, is being delivered to the delegation’s various hosts as an expression of friendship as well as a desire to strenghen relationships and understanding between our legal communities.  (Press the link below if you wish to review the letter).

After our co-hosted excursion to the Cana Rum Room last month for our fabulously attended co-hosted mixer, we return to our favorite summer spot, the Bar and Pool area of the magnificent Moroccan inspired Hotel Figueroa.  Drinks are FREE for the first hour, courtesy of Law Office of Mann & Elias.  Bring your business cards, smiles and good spirit.  I look forward to re-connecting with everyone and meeting new faces.

Networking Mixer

Hello All,

I hope you enjoyed your July 4th weekend.  Our monthly mixer this month falls on July 14, which happens to be another revolutionary day:  Bastille day!  On this occasion, instead of our usual ”most relaxing mixer ever” event @ the Hotel Figueroa, we are instead co-sponsoring the State Bar of California International Law Section’s mixer, along with a number of other bar associations, including the Los Angeles County Bar Association International Law Section, the Orange County Bar Association International Law Section, and the Los Angeles County Bar Association Corporate Law Departments Section.

This Networking Mixer is  from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., at the Cana Rum Bar, an elegant bar with a tropical flair located at 714 West Olympic Blvd in Los Angeles, (213) 745-7090.
This is a great opportunity to check out the Cana Rum Bar, which normally requires a membership to get in.  The membership fee for the night will be waived for everyone attending the Networking Mixer.  The Cana Rum Bar boasts 140 variations of small batch rum.
